So, I've been working on this painting for a while now and although it's not quite finished, I wanted to show the progress I've made so far because I have a burning desire to share a revelation I recently had about multi-tasking and I found this painting to be a metaphor to capture what it is that I've come to realize.
I know that when I try to tackle something without my complete and undivided attention, the results will lack the quality that it deserves and of course, I easily become frustrated. I’ve learned over the years to take a step back and breathe and wait for the appropriate time to do whatever it is that needs to be done and I guess you can say that this can be applied to almost anything. The truth is, it isn’t always easy to just focus on one thing at a time, at any given moment and follow it through to the end. In fact, most times we are constantly having to juggle more than one thing at a time and it can get pretty hectic!
We know that life is a journey and depending on your perception of it, it can be as though your struggling or flowing through life with ease because life is truly what you make it. All we have is the present moment and it’s up to us how we choose to live it and I say we should strive to live life as though there is a symphony playing in our ear. Just dance and go with the flow of life and trust in the universe that everything will fall into place at the right time because if we fight it, we will discover the unnecessary pain and suffering that will only lead us back to surrendering to what is. My only hope is that we do not become bitter and angry but we learn to forgive ourselves and others that we may heal, let go and move on to the next adventure!
Usually when we want things, we expect things to work out in a particular way but often times it works out in a totally different way than we had expected it to. We might not necessarily see why things happen the way they do until we move on from it and look back, only to see that it was a part of a bigger plan; as though there was a divine process for your desired outcome. Perhaps it was to make us a better person or maybe it was because we needed to learn a lesson that would assist us in the near or distant future or maybe it was because our intentions were a contrast to our beliefs.
Be thankful and find the compassion, the courage and the grace to experience true peace within so that it can be a reflection in our surroundings and within our community. Let us all be a light onto the world so that we may shine forever brightly and run freely and fly high with strength and determination to live our best lives yet…like two horses galloping into the rhythm & flow of life.
Beauty for ashes,
